Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers completed an American sweep of gold medals in the Olympic beach volleyball tournament.

A day after Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh topped China's Tian Jia and Wang Jie in the women's gold-medal match to become the first team in beach volleyball history to win back-to-back Olympic titles, their male counterparts won a gold of their own.
Dalhausser and Rogers defeated Brazil's Marcio Araujo and Fabio Magalhaes 23-21, 17-21, 15-4 on Friday in the men's final.
But the victory didn't come easily.
The Brazilians controlled the first set early, jumping out to a 9-3 lead before the Americans went on a 7-1 run to even the stanza at 10-10. The U.S. took its first lead of the set at 18-17 before closing out it out 23-21.
Brazil came back in the second, trading points with the Americans through most of the second set before clinching it 21-17 to force a third stanza.
The U.S. jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead in the decisive third set before increasing their advantage to 9-1 en route to securing the victory at 15-4
Dalhausser dominated play at the net in the final, recording nine blocks.
Earlier Friday, Marcio and Fabio's countrymen, Emanuel and Ricardo, defeated Georgia's Renato Gomes and Jorge Terceiro 21-15, 21-10 in the men's bronze medal match. Emanuel and Ricardo, the 2004 Olympic gold medalists, lost to Marcio and Fabio in the semifinals.
