What a whirlwind the last month has been. Seems as though every day I have been speaking to a classroom, group or doing something else. Or of course had a tourney, been traveling, ect... I think this might be the first day where I really have nothing at all that I have to do. I am going down to Manhattan Beach tonight as we play tomorrow at 9am though.
So far Phil and I have played in 3 AVP tourneys post Olympics and won the first 2 and took a 2nd in the latest one in San Francisco. They seem to be getting tougher and tougher though. In Cincinnati I think we were still on a high and played really well. In Santa Barbara we had the crazy comeback in the finals to pull out a miracle win. In San Fran we played solid ball but Rosy and Jake played fired up ball and wanted it more. Now we have 2 more tourneys on the AVP schedule left. Manhattan Beach this weekend which should not be too hard to fire up for. One it is the granddaddy and second the first place check is $100,000. 2 good reasons to play all out. The following weekend we are in Glendale, AZ for the God of the Beach. Not sure how that will play out being in AZ instead of Vegas. Phil, Sean Scott, Nick Lucena and I all get bye's in the first round which is nice. We start play on Friday night with one game. Then Saturday morning with one game and then Saturday night with one game. Also Saturday night is the finals so if you make that or are picked you have one more game. Pretty mellow really.
After that I have no plans of playing or working out for most of October. I will surf and run and do those kind of things but will stay out of the gym, off the sand, and away from the track! Looking forward to it.
