About Me
Born and raised in Westchester, California where I played for my high school volleyball team until graduation in 1991. Volleyball scholarship to paradise at UC Santa Barbara until graduation in 1996 with a degree in Sociology. Did the nine to five for a bank in Century City until I decided to try the volley in any or all of the Euro leagues. First contract in Bilzen, Belgium in 1998. Second contract in Moers, Germany. After that I got thrown around like a cheap whore from one club to another with instable financial situations. Currently coaching the local club with a youth team between the ages of 15 to 25, but show the kids how the sport is played every once and a while. But, basically kept my base in Belgium to keep the relationship alive with my Belgian beauty Elke. Now we have our first child Lukas, and now we are working for a healthy, happy, and successful future here in Zonhoven, Belgium. Wish us luck!

Hey Doug,

Congrats on the son! Every once in a while a raccoon will choose to wander in the house and harass my cats...

Great to hear from you!

Good to hear from you and congrats on your baby boy. I can’t believe you’re still playing and living in Belgium – I’m jealous. My body has quit on me – after two knee surgeries things just aren’t the same. However, I’m coming out of retirement for the 6-man MB tournament next week – so I was laughing when I saw the picture you posted.

Things are good over here just working the 9-5 as a financial analyst for a consulting company. The next job is to expand the family so let me know how you survive with the little one.

Hope all is well
