Women’s Country Quota Matches Launch 10th 1to1energy Grand Slam

Gstaad, Switzerland, July 6, 2009 - The 10th annual 1to1energy Grand Slam started here Monday with a pair of Country Quota playoff matches featuring teams from Brazil and Germany to set the field for Tuesday’s Qualification tournament in the Swiss Alps village for the second of five “major” events on the international Beach Volleyball calendar.

Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand, July 6, 2009 – The more competitive contest of the 2009 Girls’ Youth Volleyball World Championship is set to kick off on July 7, with the top eight teams including title-hotshots Brazil pitting their expertise to vie for the world title.

Ningbo, China to host Final Round of 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix

Lausanne, June 15, 2009 - The FIVB concluded a contract with the Director of Beilun Sports Government today that awarded Ningbo, China hosting rights for the Final Round of the 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix.

Despite an almost two-hour rain delay, Main Draw play continued Saturday at the AVP Crocs Tour Ocean City Open presented by Malibu. Reigning Olympic beach volleyball gold medalists Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers and fellow top seeds and Olympians Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs advanced to Sunday’s Final Four.

Third-seeded John Hyden and Sean Scott defeated 2008 Olympic gold medalists and defending World Champions Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers for the second straight time at the AVP Crocs Tour Ocean City Open Presented by Malibu.
