Mario hopes for further success with Brazil

Sao Paulo, Brazil, February 8, 2010 – Brazilian libero Mario says he is hoping that 2010 will be equally as good, if not better than his debut season in the canary yellow last year when the world No. 1 picked up the FIVB World League and FIVB World Grand Champions Cup titles in the space of five months.

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 7, 2010 - The FIVB Volley All Festival was an overwhelming success in 2009 attracting a record 500,000 participants across 54 countries as reported during the FIVB Development Commission meeting held at the FIVB headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday.

Suriname named as hosts of 2010 Caribbean Championships

Paramaribo, Suriname, February 8, 2010 – Caribbean Zonal Volleyball President Mushtaque Mohammed announced the hosts of the Caribbean Championships on Monday, saying “there are no concerns, Suriname can host the Caribbean Cup 2010.”

Kerri and Casey expecting baby #2



Looks like there will be no Kerri/Misty pairing during the 2010 season either... Kerri Walsh is pregnant with her second child and is due in May.

Walsh and her husband, fellow beach volleyball pro Casey Jennings, gave birth to a son last May. After planning to take the whole year off, Walsh returned to the AVP tour in August.

No. 14 Florida Volleyball To Host No. 1 Penn State Friday in NCAA Regional Semifinal

The No. 14/15 University of Florida volleyball team opens play in its 18th NCAA regional semifinal in the last 19 years on Friday when the Gators host No. 1/1 Penn State. Opening serve in the Stephen C. O’Connell Center is slated for 6 p.m. ET and the match will be carried live on GatorVision Online and WRUF-AM 850 with Tom Collett and Missy Whittemore. Shaq and Todd Rogers take on Kerri and Misty - for Shaq's new show "Shaq Vs"

Shaquille O'Neal spent Sunday afternoon at Hermosa Beach playing volleyball against a pair of Olympic gold medalists. It was for his ABC reality show, "Shaq vs.," and the deal was, if O'Neal and gold medalist Todd Rogers lost to Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, the NBA center would dash down the beach in a pink Speedo.
